He explains that the body movements and breathing techniques cultivated through aikido are deeply connected to the act of writing calligraphy.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"577\" src=\"https:\/\/wanomori.c-s-value.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/288966def4672fb3c2256ccb807904e4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-696\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wanomori.c-s-value.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/288966def4672fb3c2256ccb807904e4.png 768w, https:\/\/wanomori.c-s-value.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/288966def4672fb3c2256ccb807904e4-300x225.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In mid-September, with lingering late summer heat, the grounds of Kentokuzan Erinji Temple welcomed us.As you step inside, you are greeted by a beautifully maintained and serene space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this sacred setting, we had the honor of presenting a calligraphy performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"510\" src=\"https:\/\/wanomori.c-s-value.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/DSC04565-1024x680-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-697 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wanomori.c-s-value.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/DSC04565-1024x680-1.jpg 768w, https:\/\/wanomori.c-s-value.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/DSC04565-1024x680-1-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p><br>On this day, Erinji Temple was lively with many tourists and locals visiting.<br>However, when Reed Sensei closed his eyes, the bustling crowd paused, and as he picked up the brush, the lively atmosphere gave way to stillness.<br>Only the sound of cicadas, singing as if to lament the passing summer, echoed through the quiet space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"511\" src=\"https:\/\/wanomori.c-s-value.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/DSC04556-1024x681-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-698\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wanomori.c-s-value.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/DSC04556-1024x681-1.jpg 768w, https:\/\/wanomori.c-s-value.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/DSC04556-1024x681-1-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br>When Reed Sensei took up the large brush, his movements were as precise and powerful as a sword, yet delicate and controlled. His presence was reminiscent of a true samurai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>The word he chose to write this time was:<br><strong>&#8220;\u55ab\u8336\u53bb (Kissa Ko)&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This Zen phrase, which simply means <strong>&#8220;Have a cup of tea,&#8221;<\/strong> carries a profound message. It transcends personal preferences, emotions, or formalities. However, its unique texture, unattainable with machine-made paper, proved highly suitable for calligraphy during this event.
