We are pleased to announce the publication of the commemorative booklet Takeda-ryu Ka\u014d<\/em>,
which includes contributions from the LLC Wa no Mori, along with an essay by its representative, William Reed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Ka\u014d<\/em> is a traditional Japanese signature, written in a stylized brushstroke that serves as a substitute for a name.
However, a Ka\u014d<\/em> is not merely a decorative representation of a name; it incorporates the individual’s life story, aspirations for the future, and wishes for good fortune.
Among these, the Takeda family developed and refined their unique Ka\u014d<\/em> style, incorporating anti-counterfeiting measures to prevent forgery. This distinctive form is known as Takeda-ryu Ka\u014d<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At first glance, it may not be apparent what specific anti-counterfeiting measures were used.
The booklet provides detailed explanations of these techniques, so we hope you will take the time to read it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even today, Ka\u014d<\/em> signatures remain in use. For example, signatures on government documents, such as cabinet decision bills,
are written as Ka\u014d<\/em> specially designed for each minister and are considered as handwritten signatures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This special 500th-anniversary edition also features Ka\u014d<\/em> of past cabinet ministers from Yamanashi Prefecture, offering a fascinating historical perspective.

The publication of this booklet was highlighted in the Yamanashi Nichinichi Shimbun<\/em> on Wednesday, October 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
